Haghartzin lies in a woodland on the northern slopes of the P'ambak mountains which, southwards, down-valley, is delimited by the rivers Haghardzin and Metz Aghbiur, 18 km from Dilidjian.
Of the great and fascinating monastery built between the 11th and 13th centuries, today remain six buildings, restored in the Seventies, characterized by different typologies and functions.
